About The Orange Strainer

I'm an aspiring housewife.  My favorite place in the world to be is home.  There is a short list of things you might find me doing there:

1. Working out (Not at all my favorite of these options!)
2. Writing on my laptop
3. Playing the violin or piano
4. Hanging out with my fabulous husband
5. Creating a masterpiece in my kitchen

After a year of running a blog about literally everything in my world, I decided to come up with a blog devoted solely to my kitchen.  My goal is to write about recipes I'm putting through my strainer.  If they stay in the strainer, they stay in my kitchen.  If they strain, they go down the drain!

My hope is to answer questions like: Is this recipe good?  Is it worth wasting 1-3 hours of my life?  Do they really taste like glazed donuts....Starbucks vanilla bean scones....thin mints?*

*Perhaps you can sense from these items where my heart lies.

Here is my rating system, on a 1-10 scale:

Ease
1 - A child could do this!
5 - A little challenging, but if a wife of five years can do it, so can you!
10 - I'm a little scared to try this one again myself!

Taste
1 - It's a good thing we have a McDonald's close by!
5 - Didn't knock my socks off, but it's worth trying again.
10 - I wish I could eat this every night of the week!

Leftover Value:*
1- Hubby said that it was horrible leftover.
5 - Hubby didn't comment about it at all leftover.
10 - Hubby said it was great leftover.

*Important note: I'm a bit of a snob and hardly ever eat leftovers.  My parents did not raise me like this, it is just an unfortunate problem I'm learning to live with.  Therefore, Hubby will be determining most of the leftover value for the food I cook.

Example:
Recipe: Ranch-Style Chicken
Source: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Food From My Frontier
Time: 2.5 hrs total (includes marinating time)
Ease:  2
Taste: 8
Leftover Value: 9
Down the Drain or Keep in the Strainer: Keep it in the strainer!
